With the season right around the corner, and a big name coach in the bag, Greeley's new pro basketball team was still missing one important part! The Colorado Cougars had no players yet! That changed Thursday when the Cougars announced their inaugural line-up. Three try-outs were held, and as you can tell from the list of names, mostly local talent was chosen to represent the Cougars in their first season. So, without further ado, for the first time, here are your 2011-2012 Colorado Cougars!

  • Freddie Robinson

    Named Defensive Player of the year award three times at Colorado State University. Was a top 5 recruit in the nation out of high school. Robinson is a 6-foot-5, 215-pound swing that missed the entire 2004-05 season at CSU after suffering an Achilles tendon injury that he suffered in preseason practice. He underwent surgery and was ready to go in 2005-06. Robinson’s case was unique because he had already received a previous medical hardship for the 2002-03 season when he suffered a back injury and played in only six games. Career: Tulsa, Okla.   • Arin Dunn

    Dunn is a 6’1” 185 lbs. guard from Broomfield. As a junior at Colorado State University in 2008 Arin started the year on the practice team and earned his way into the rotation... Appeared in 14 games, all Mountain West Conference games, averaging 14.9 minutes per game... Made his first collegiate appearance Jan. 10 against BYU, scoring three points in 8 minutes... Scored in eight games, including a career-high 10 points against Air Force on Jan. 20... Shot .423 from the field and .600 from beyond the arc... Shot 1-of-6 from the floor and 5-of-6 from beyond the arc in his first three games... His nine makes on 15 three-point attempts was the highest percentage among players with more than one attempt. In 2007 Arin attended Lamar Community College in Lamar, Colo...Played in 29 games and started in 13...Shot 48 percent from the field and 42 percent beyond the arc...Averaged 5.5 points per game...Had 48 assists and 22 steals...Helped the Runnin' Lopes to a second straight 20-win season.   • Levi Dyer

    Germany Pro-A, Science City Jena * 2009 Signed with Science City Jena where he only played two pre-season games due to an injured foot that has now completely healed. Dyer a 6’11” Center from Eaton played collegiately at Illinois State University graduating in May of 2009. His stellar college career saw Levi acquire the following records: Ranked 5th in ISU history for career three-point field goal percentage 141-334 (42.2%) Ranked 9th in ISU history for career three-point field goals made (141) In 2008 Levi had a 41.7% three-point field goal percentage, the most wins in school history (25) tied for 1st place in ISU history for games played in a single season (35) Missouri Valley Conference Player of the week for the period ending Dec. 29 National Invitational Tournament Team (25-10) 2006-07 had 16 points-per-game, 2nd in the Missouri Valley Conference in three-point field goal percentage (48%) Career-High 29 Points, ranked 4th in ISU history for three-point field goal percentage for a season (48%) was honorable mention All-Missouri Valley Conference Selection and was a Milt Weisbecker Endowed Scholarship recipient. In High School Levi was a top player in the state of Colorado out of Eaton High. 2000-2004 Dyer recieved first team all-state and all-conference honors, led team to an 18-8 record and a fourth-place finish at the state tournament, averaged 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots per game, shot 67% from the field including 33% from behind the three point line on 82 attempts, and shot 82% of his free throw attempts.

  • Dallas Elmore

    A 6’5” 220 lbs. swingman Dallas earned Denver Post Class 5A All-State first-team honors as a senior at Poudre High School; was a second-team selection as a junior. Elmore captured Front Range League Player of the Year honors in 2006-07 and 2007-08. He averaged 23.0 points per game in 2007-08, scored a career-high 47 points in a home win over Thornton. Dallas played in The Show All-Star Game, sponsored by the Denver Nuggets and hosted at the Pepsi Center in 2006, 2007 and 2008; scored 17 points for Team Blue in a 2008 winning effort. He Averaged 23.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in 2006-07, leading the Impalas to the Front Range League title. Also played for the Colorado Select AAU team. Dallas went on to play three years at D-1 Boston College as a go to defensive stopper. He finished his career at BC with 232 points, 106 rebounds and 45 assists in 77 games.

    6’ 5” 200 swing. 2002-2005: Lubbock High School. 3 years of varsity and started his junior year. Best season was as a Senior, averaging 15 points and 6 rebounds a game. Lead team to a 26-7 record (2nd best in school history) in a very competitive 5A district. Honors: junior year; all City 1st team, All South plains 2nd team, all district first team. Senior: All South Plains 1st team, 1st Team All City, 1st Team All District, All Region Team, All State Honorable Mention. 2005-2006; Played at South Plains College Junior College. 2007-2008; Transferred to Otero Junior College, where he averaged 14pts 7 rebounds 1 blocked shot per game as a team captain. Honorable Mention All-Region. 2008-2009: Transferred to Lubbock Christian University. Was 6th man averaging 10 points and 3 rebounds a game.

    A 6’5” 230lbs. defensive specialist and a slashing forward from Loveland High School, Tarver was a 3 year starter from 1994-1998. DeMel played collegiately for Otero Junior College as a two year starter from 1998-2001 and for Regis University as a two year starter from 2001-2003.

    Aaron has been playing basketball since the age of 5. He played for club teams and traveling teams even before playing at Narbonne High School in Harbor City CA. He then played in the Marine League.

    6’1” 160 lbs. Greeley Central- 21.1 points and nearly 8 rebounds per game leading the Wildcats to a 16 and 9 record as a Junior. He was named to the Top of the Rockies All-Tournament Team that same year.

    Travis attended Fort Morgan High School, varsity starter his Junior & Senior seasons. -Junior Season: Selected to the All-Conference Team, Averaged 16 points a game, Selected to the State 3 Point contest where he recorded the highest score in all rounds; 14 made of 15 shots taken. Played in the Best in The West camp in San Diego, California. -Senior Season: Selected to the All-Conference Team, Averaged 21 points & 6 assists a game, brought his team back from a 15 point deficit in a playoff game with 18 points in the 4th quarter & hit the game winning shot to give Fort Morgan its first playoff win since the 1960's. -College: Attended & played for Eastern Wyoming College, 2002/2003 -Attended Western State College & The University of Northern Colorado studying Business Management.
