The Colorado Ice had exactly what they wanted with two games left this season... Win either one and you get to host a playoff game in the first round of the Indoor Football League (IFL) Playoffs. The Ice lost them both and now are forced to travel to Kennewick, Washington to play a Tri-Cities Fever team who already beat them twice this year and knocked them out of the playoffs last season.

With the Allen Wranglers defeating the New Mexico Stars, 85-70, Saturday night the seeding for the Intense Conference was solidified. Allen (9-5) takes the No. 2 seed leaving the Wichita Wild (8-6) in No. 3 and the Ice (8-6) at No. 4 after the strength of schedule tie breaker. The No. 4 seed means the Ice will be on the road for the entire playoffs.

The Ice have played the Fever twice this season, with the Fever winning both times. The first match-up between the two teams was in Washington back in March with the Fever winning by two touchdowns 64-50. The other game between the Ice and Fever was a game the Ice desperately needed to win at the Budweiser Events Center for their final home game of the year. The game went to overtime, but the Fever prevailed and won 52-49. Last season the Fever won the first ever home playoff game the Colorado Ice had hosted, 45-42, sending the Fever on to the 2011 Championship game.

That Ice will play the Fever at the Toyota Center at 8:05 p.m. (Mountain) on Friday, June 22.Tickets can be purchased by calling the Tri-Cities Fever at 509-222-2215 or going to www.tricitiesfever.com. More info at thecoloradoice.com.
