Windsor Summer Concert Series Kicks Off This Thursday With An All-Town Barbecue

I have bragged about it before and I will again... I love the little community that I now call home so much. Windsor just has that small town feel, it's conveniently located to everything, and there is so much neat stuff that goes on here. One of my favorite events the Town of Windsor puts on is it's Summer Concert Series at Boardwalk Park on Thursday Nights throughout the summer. 

All you really need to have a fun, enjoyable, relaxing Thursday evening this summer is either a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. Bring it to Boardwalk Park, 100 N. 5th St., in downtown Windsor, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the 2012 Summer Concert Series. There is food avaliable from various vendors each week as well as the lake complete with water toys and a beach volleyball pit. The setting couldn't be better for a small town concert series.

To kick off the Summer Concert Series, the Windsor Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Windsor are co-hosting Windsor’s all-town barbecue this Thursday from 5-7 p.m. The barbecue is free and will include 1,250 hamburgers, 1,000 hot dogs, potato chips, cookies and pop. Volunteers are needed to help with the barbecue. Last year, more than 2,000 people attended the barbecue. The concert gets underway at 6:30 and will feature the high energy horn band, Homeslice.

The 2012 Windsor Summer Concert Series takes place at Boardwalk Park every Thursday from 6:30-8:30 (unless otherwise noted) from June 7th through August 9th.
